Brief description
The Tiefencastel/GR water power plant is divided into the West plant and the East plant. The West plant has two Francis turbines and a transformer; the East plan has two Francis turbines and two transformers. Each turbine has a support bearing, two guide bearings, a turbine adjuster, a generator cooler and a seal water unit. These consumers and the three transformers must be supplied with cool water.
The cool water is removed from the turbine outlet in each case and added to a common pump and filter station. Depending on the manner of running the power plant, two or three of the newly installed cool water pumps convey the cool water via a Doucet filter into a cool water reservoir which is approximately 45 m higher.
Each turbine was given a new cool water distribution battery with separate connections for the aforementioned consumers. The distribution batteries are powered from the cool water reservoir.
Distribution battery East maximal 540m3/h (3x 180m3/h of the new cool water pumps P1, P2 und P3 which can supply all four turbines and the three transformers with cool water)
